Falcons in trade talks with Chiefs
According the NFL Network, the Falcons are talking to the Chiefs about a trade for All Pro TE Tony Gonzalez. These talks are seem pretty serious. So serious that rumors are that Tony G. has started cleaning out his locker. As a Saints fan, this is pretty disturbing. They will have Tony Gonzalez and Kellen Winslow as their TE's. Nobody will know whether they will pass or run with 2 TE set formations.

Former Saint Joe Horn Cut - Received 2.5M
After eating 2.5M of guaranteed money, the former New Orleans Saint, Joe Horn, was cut by the Atlanta Falcons on Aug 19th. He caught 27 passes for 243 yards in 2007. He had a nagging hamstring injury most of the season. Horn says he is ready to play for a winning team.

Shoot Out in Texas
The Saints lose a close one in their 2nd preseason game against the Texans 31-27. Drew Brees looked good and WR M. Colston caught a spectacular one hand grab in the end zone for a TD. Now for the dirty. The Defense looked horrible. Jason David gave up so many plays it was really unbelievable. For the 2nd week in a row, the opposing teams were able to throw the ball at will. If Jason David is the best 2nd CB on the roster, then the Saints are going to have a long season. We need to have CB Mike McKenzie back for week one. On a good note, Rookie DT Sedrick Ellis got a lot of push up front and looks very promising. He is definitely a keeper and I am looking forward to watching him more!

First Pre-Season Game Impressions
The Saints first team came out in old form. The good with the bad. Drew Brees was very impressive throwing a nice TD pass in the opening drive. The Cardinals was putting some pressure on Brees, but it didn't shake him. He was still on target. The downside of being in "old form" is that the run game was still lacking. Reggie Bush had 2 very good runs that were called back on penalties, but besides that the O-Line looks the same as last year. They can not run block.
The defense had a good first series and they seemed to have a better pass rush. Other than that, the secondary is still below average. They made Leinart look like an All-Pro.
This is only the first pre-season game and a few key players were missing so I won't get worried yet. My biggest concern is the O-Line. I can't wait to see McAllister run the football!

Saints First Pre-Season Game
The New Orleans Saints play their first preseason game this Thursday night at 7 pm central time against the Arizona Cardinals on ESPN.
Things I am hoping to see:
1. RB P. Thomas get a lot of carries
2. Rookie DT S. Ellis to see a lot of play time.
3. All the WR's and CB play. Especially R. Gay & J. David

Saints - Is Deuce Done?
One of the big questions about the Saints this season is the RB position. Especially Deuce's ACL injury. Will Deuce make it through the season? Well, just after a few days of training camp I think our question was answered. The New Orleans Saints will have trouble keep Deuce on the field. He can barely make it through a workout. As much as I would hate to say it "Deuce is Done".

New Orleans Saints Training Camp Begins
Training camp was a big success yesterday. Drew Brees and Shockey play pitch and catch. Connecting serveral times as the crowd cheers in their first day at mini camp together. Here is what Drew Brees had to say "I certainly am looking forward to the opportunity to get to know him a little bit out here and get to know him as much as we can as far as building that relationship." Feel free to discuss more about the New Orleans Saints at our forum.
